Let it Snow, Let it Rain, Let it Snow: Taking Stock for October

I haven’t done any blog posts in October (I’m a terrible human being, I know) and so this is my attempt at making up for that: a well-detailed summary of all that has happened in my month using my regular format. The reasons no blog has come in October are varied: I’ve been busy, I’ve been tired, I’ve been writing other things and I just haven’t been in the right state of mind (a certain state of mind is required- trust me). Nevertheless, here it is. I present you with my summary of the month of October, very scarily my third last full month in Norway.

Making : New friends. Cheesy, I know, but in the case of the last month very true. I was on a school trip to Åland where, for a week, we worked with students from both Sweden and Åland on various tasks and activities. It was, for me, a bit of a crash course in Swedish but I actually surprised myself with how much I understood and had a surprisingly easy time conversing with the other students. I might never see the Swedish or Åland students again but it was very fun to meet different people and learn a little about some slightly different cultures.
Cooking :
Drinking : Hot chocolate. It is beginning to get significantly colder, in one week it dropped from around 10 degrees to between -4 and 2, so I don’t really feel the need to explain this choice too much. I’m not a coffee drinker (not Norwegian enough to enjoy black coffee) and have never been much of a tea fan so on the weekends I often find myself enjoying a hot chocolate alongside some brunøst on bread.
