Preliminary Youth Exchange Application Form

Guidelines for Host Families

This brochure explains all about hosting an exchange student. The families of students going out on exchange are expected to assist the program by hosting an inbound student either before, during or after their own family member’s exchange experience. The parents of outbound students must commit to host for a total of 12 months over a 2 year period. If they are unable to fulfill this commitment themselves, they are to find suitable host families that meet our requirements.

Sample Questions To Ask Your Host Family

This is a list of suggested questions that should be asked by the exchange student within 48 hours of living with a new host family. It can be a fun exercise and once these questions are answered the student and the host family have a solid idea of house rules and family expectations.
